Folklore

I heard a story of a snake god who had a hawk as a friend
If you know it then you know how it ends
From the islands to the jungle and everywhere in between
there’s a story telling how man came to be
I want to write a story about you and me
A tale of love and all that’s holy
A tale incomparable to none
A tale of two people intertwined into one
You won’t be able to tell where you ended and I began
We’ll be the epitome of virtue and divinity
I pledge to be your guardian for all eternity
And they’ll worship at our altar in prostration
We’ll be comparable to the tales of creation
They’ll tell our story under the stars
Man and woman will gather from afar
They’ll listen to tales of your gentle essence
They’ll admire my passion for excellence
Our story will be one of confidence, wisdom, and camaraderie
Gentle warriors, free spirits, new age philosophy
Our story will grow over time
They’ll tell of how you became forever mine
Songs of passion and adoration will be played
Statues of gold and silver will be made
They’ll place red flowers on the altar
And burn incense as tribune
They’ll dance under the beams of the new moon
Their passion in exchange for a boon
